NO MORE WALLPAPER!!!

Two weeks ago, Terry had a business trip scheduled and he was going to be gone for a week. I had found some wall art that was very fitting for several different rooms and Mom made them for me on her Cricut. But there was wallpaper border in my way - and if you remove THAT, you need to repaint so..... Hmmmm - while he is gone, I planned to remove the wallpaper border in the laundry room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. I was going to follow that with a new paint job in each of the rooms and be done before he returned. I had NEVER removed wallpaper before and quickly learned that I had set myself up with an impossible goal. I started with the (vinyl) border in the laundry room. Several finger nails gone, conversations with many giving their advice and hearing how the border will just "fall off" after using several different concoctions, I was ready to throw in the towel. It took one FULL week to remove the border in the laundry room (and MANY hours during that week) before it was removed. Mom came down and we removed the border in the dining room AND bathroom in one day - YES, ONE DAY!! The rest, as they say, is history. I have gotten the laundry room, bathroom, dining room AND kitchen repainted. Thanks to Mom for the word art and the help around here - she will also be making my new curtains. Terry and I will be looking for new cabinets for the laundry room. He did get sucked into helping with my "quick" project, several times. Thanks, honey, for putting up with me!! And thanks to the kids for living in the disorganization of it all! This should last at least the next 10 years!! =-)

I, Kara, hereby promise to NEVER put wallpaper border anywhere in my house, again! I have also learned to NEVER think a project will be "quick"! But the result is well worth the wait....and a messy, disastrous house.
