Remodel of Room #2

A little over one week ago, we ripped out the carpet of Trevor's old room. We knew this was OLD carpet with no padding beneath it. It was old, thread bare in spots, and just plain nasty. When we pulled up the carpet, we found that the floor was covered with newspapers dated 1935! Erin found the paper that talks of President Roosevelt's son (top right) and had fun reading history right there on the floor! The bottom left is in German (I think??). Considering how old the papers were, I surprised to find how much different furs costed back then! A red Russian squirrel's fur went for over $2000!!!
Since this picture was taken, the entire room has been changed and we are awaiting the carpet. The installation will be tomorrow morning....and the girls are eagerly waiting to sleep in their room tomorrow night....even if it is just on the floor!
Next up.....painting Trevor's "new" room (which happens to be the room he originally slept in before he was moved upstairs 8 years ago!)

You didn't find any money under the old carpet? It must be in the walls :)
