Hawaiian Day

This has got to be the most mild Wisconsin winter that I can recall.  Now, I realize that my memory isn't always the greatest, but this winter has been one of the warmest (imagine our pleasure in seeing our heat bill!) and there has been a definite lack in snow!  (That could still change?!)  Because of this, our local ski hill has closed a few weeks earlier than usual, much to Erin's dismay!
Saturday I took the Trevor and Erin out one last time to hit the slopes......in 60* weather, mind you!  The snow condition was actually better than we anticipated so they had about 4 hours of skiing/boarding in the sun and warmth.  In celebration of Hawaiian Day at the ski hill, they make a pond near the bottom of one of the runs for those brave souls to ski/board over.  We had fun watching others give it a whirl but Erin had no desire to try it b/c it seemed to be a bit more difficult for those with skis.  However, after watching several of his classmates board over it, Trevor decided to give it a shot.....four times later, he decided to call it quits.  He did GREAT.....the first time was digger in the snow/ice on the other side of the water after skimming it so gracefully.  By the last time, though, he was a "pro" and sailed right on through and down to the lift!
Erin and I got sprayed enough just watching that we decided it was just as good as giving it a try ourselves!
Trevor & Erin show just how wet they got!

A picture of the pond that just happens to have a friend of Trevor's showing just how to do it!

Here comes Trevor!!!
