If You Let Your Children Switch Bedrooms.....

you will have to remodel before they can move!  I have been helping the fourth grade class write their own "round about" stories (If You Give a Mouse a Cookie) and it seems to fit in very well with our life here at home.  Erin innocently made the suggestion that they move up to Trevor's room because it is bigger...and they are tired of bunk beds in their itty-bitty bedroom.  Terry and I decided that it did indeed make a lot of sense.  Now in any other household, this would be a simple bedroom switch.  In this house....NOT SO MUCH!  The carpet in the upstairs landing room and bedroom was so old and so bare that I am pretty sure it came across on the Mayflower?!
To the left of the stairs-the closet door is Terry's storage closet.

To the right of the stairs-entering the bedroom.  The carpet was partially removed in these pics.
We will also put more outlets in this room as right now there is only ONE.
The girls' desks will be in this room just as Trevor's was.

One of the kids' daily chores is to neaten their bedroom.  Obviously, that is not on
Trevor's daily list right now!  He has been sleeping in the living room b/c his bed is....
shall we just say it's hidden?!

I honestly didn't know how much we had in our filing cabinet, etc. in the landing until
we had to remove all the STUFF to move the cabinets.  Trevor's room is completely F.U.L.L
The floor in the landing, new trim and electricity will be done this coming week.  Carpet is being ordered today.  I am so excited to be able to work on painting the girls' "new" room but that will be a bit yet.   Right now, we are a work in progress!

How exciting... but work all at the same time. Will be anxious to see the end results.
