For me it seems quite difficult to get a little one-on-one time with each one of the kids. One way that I have tried to do it is to schedule time that I can come in to school and have lunch with each one individually. Yesterday I had lunch with Emily & stayed for their recess. Today was Parent Lunch at the Middle School so I ran into town to be with Trevor....a quick lunch before he and his friends literally RAN outside to have their 10 minutes of basketball before heading off to their next class! What just melts my heart is that even at his age, he still gave me a hug before heading outside.
Erin's favorite part of recess: the bars and the "magic carpet" bars
Erin & Emily picking dandelions with a friend to make chains.
Before leaving the playground, a broken hearted kindergartner came up to ask if the dandelions are flowers or weeds. A fourth grader had told her they were weeds. How sad she looked when she found out they are really a weed.....
A friend of the girls' brought me a bouquet of dandelions because...."I know you won't throw them away like my teacher does, Mrs. Carlson!"
If only they could stay sweet and innocent for always......

Daisy lions are kid friendly flowers...its OK if you smoosh 'em or break their heads off! There will always be more...for FREE! :)
