Biking, Reading, Swimming, Storms & 4H

4H FUN!!

Terry had the day off (July 5th) so we were searching for something cool to do with the kids - unfortunately many places were closed due to the July 4th holiday and it was stormy so the city pool was also closed. However, the YMCA had open skating at their indoor rink.....PERFECT!

Twin Revision-Family Reunion

This photo is a revision that shows a 6th set of twins in the Krisher Family that wasn't able to attend the reunion. I apologize for the quality of the picture as it was emailed to me. Since we are still in the "stoneage" with dial-up internet, I couldn't get this particular picture to refresh for quality.

Also the caption below the photo of Lowell's family should have read "Lowell Krisher family in attendance".
I certainly did not mean to leave any of the family out and hope it didn't cause hard feelings with anyone.

Family+Fun+Food+Music=Family Reunion

Thanks to special people that went through a lot of work and took a lot of time, we had the priviledge of attending yet another family reunion over the holiday weekend. It is always so much fun to get together and see those that we haven't seen....at least since the last reunion! As I get older and I watch my children grow into yet another stage of their lives, I see the importance of these functions. We enjoyed one another, listening to music (a definite tradition of our family!!) stories from the past and, of course, food!!

Home TWEET Home

This birdhouse was recently moved from my grandparents farm in Iowa to my house. I hung it from our weeping birch tree near our home. A few weeks ago, my daughters were playing near it and saw a bird going into it. Of course, I had to grab my camera and sit to watch and photograph the new residents. Very special to have a piece of Gma and Gpa's home here at mine.

Strike!

We have been taking advantage of a Kids Bowl Free program that we have in our area. We did this last summer and it was a fun way for us to spend a few hours now and then so we decided to try it again this year. However, we have learned that bumpers in the gutters are almost a neccessity for us!! We have had a lot of laughs....and have learned that even though the ball may go slow down the lane, you can still get a strike out of it!!

Jumping Double

Erin chose to take Double Dutch lessons this summer through our Park & Rec department. She really loves it so we bought another rope so we can have more fun at home. Trevor is trying it and Emily is working on getting brave enough to do it. Erin has really taken to it and does pretty good. Knowing her, she will work on it all summer and try to do the tricks, etc. Good excercise, too!

All In a (Summer's) Day's Work

This nine year old lawnmower has been having maintenance issues throughout last summer and into this summer. I am trying to limp it along until clearance sales this fall but..... Thankfully Terry was able to fix it this time (AGAIN) but it is always...."Honey, why are you so hard on all my stuff?!" Each mowing that is done without a breakdown is just another one closer to fall!!

Trevor certainly enjoys his uninterrupted reading time hanging the hammock. This particular time went from the given 15 minutes to over 30 minutes when both he and I lost track of time.
